Hockey Stick Size Guide
Find the right stick for your game
Whether you're buying your child's first hockey stick or upgrading to a new one, choosing the correct length makes a real difference to comfort, control and technique.
What size hockey stick do I need?
The easiest way to start is with the player's age, but height is the more reliable guide. Children grow at different rates, so always check their height before choosing a stick.

How to check the fit
-
Stand the hockey stick upright beside the player, with the head resting on the floor.
-
For younger players, check whether the top of the handle reaches approximately the hip bone.
-
Make sure the player can hold and control the stick comfortably.
Should I buy a longer stick for my child to grow into?
Junior vs adult hockey sticks
Junior sticks are generally available in shorter lengths, up to approximately 35 inches. A 36.5-inch stick is the standard adult starting point, while 37.5-inch and longer sticks are available for players who prefer additional reach.
Individual manufacturers may classify their junior and adult models differently.

Hockey Shoes Size Guide
Hockey Shoe Size Charts — UK, EU, US and CM
Find your brand below and choose the correct junior, men's, women's or unisex category. There is no single universal shoe-size conversion across brands. Use the chart for the specific brand and age category of the shoes you are buying.
How to measure your feet
- Wear the socks you would normally wear for hockey.
- Stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper.
- Mark the end of your longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres.
- Measure both feet and use the longer measurement to consult the correct brand's guide.
Important: "CM/JP" may be a shoe-label size, not actual measured foot length. Where available, use the separate "Foot length (cm)" column for a measured foot. K and J both mean junior/kids. US youth sizes may be marked Y or C. Junior and adult conversions can differ even when the UK number is identical.
Choose a shoe that holds the heel securely, feels comfortable around the midfoot and leaves room for the toes without excessive movement. A conversion chart does not guarantee the same fit across different brands or models.

Brabo shoe sizing

Grays shoe sizing
Kookaburra shoe sizing
Kookaburra: Junior and adult ranges overlap and have different EU equivalents.
Mizuno shoe sizing
Nike shoe sizing
Nike: CM/JP and actual foot length are different measurements. Nike older-kids UK 6 has two labelled entries; use the specific product label to distinguish them.
Osaka shoe sizing
Osaka: Junior UK 2.5 = EU 35, whereas senior UK 2.5 = EU 35.5. Do not combine junior and senior conversions.
Questions about sizing?
Tell our team the brand and model you are considering, whether it is junior or adult footwear, your current shoe size and (if possible) your measured foot length. We can help you check the most suitable option. Shoe sizes and fit can vary between brands.
Manufacturer sizing references are guidance, not a guarantee of fit. Blank measurements shown as a dash were not provided in the source chart. Product stock and availability should be checked separately.
Hockey Shoe Sizing — Important Information
Hockey Factory Shop provides manufacturer-specific footwear size conversion charts for Adidas, ASICS, Brabo, Grays, Kookaburra, Mizuno, Nike and Osaka.
How to choose the correct size
-
Select the brand of hockey shoe first.
-
Choose the appropriate junior, men's, women's or unisex chart.
-
Use the manufacturer's UK, EU and US size conversions rather than assuming all brands use identical sizing.
-
Where a foot-length measurement is provided, measure both feet and use the longer measurement.
-
A CM/JP shoe-size label is not necessarily the same as the actual measured foot length.
-
Junior sizes marked K (Kids) and J (Junior) refer to the same junior sizing category. These letters do not change the numerical size conversion.
-
Junior and adult conversions can differ, even when the UK size number is identical.
-
ASICS unisex footwear generally follows the men's size chart unless the product specifies otherwise.
-
For Brabo footwear, use the manufacturer's shoe-box conversion chart where it differs from catalogue SKU information.
-
If a size falls between two measurements, check the manufacturer's fitting advice and the customer's preferred fit rather than automatically selecting a larger size.
Changing between footwear brands
A customer changing from one manufacturer to another should not automatically choose the same EU or US size. Check the appropriate manufacturer's chart for each brand. Where available, compare actual foot-length measurements and take account of the fit of the customer's existing shoes.

Important Footwear Sizing Information
Brabo US sizes
Brabo footwear uses the manufacturer's shoe-box size conversion chart. The US size designations must be quoted exactly as printed, including any letters.
For example, Brabo UK 9 corresponds to EU 43 and US 10W. The designation 10W must not be changed to US men's 10. The manufacturer's original size label takes priority over any conflicting catalogue SKU information.
Changing brands or moving from junior to adult footwear
UK, EU and US size conversions can vary between manufacturers and between junior and adult ranges.
When changing footwear brands or moving from junior to adult shoes, use the relevant manufacturer's size chart and check the fit. Matching a UK size does not necessarily guarantee identical fit or comfort.
Where available, compare actual heel-to-toe foot measurements rather than relying solely on EU or US size conversions. Do not confuse CM/JP shoe-label measurements with actual foot length.
Hockey shoes should hold the heel securely, feel comfortable around the midfoot and allow appropriate room for the toes.
Hockey Shin Guard Size Guide
Player height is the best starting point when choosing shin guards, but body proportions, the shape of the guard and personal comfort also matter. If a guard rises too high towards the knee, it can be uncomfortable. Check the fit before playing.
Use the specific manufacturer’s chart where available. Sizes are not necessarily interchangeable between brands or between junior and adult models. Where a manufacturer supplies guard length rather than player height, compare that measurement with a well-fitting pair and check how the manufacturer measures it.
Adult hockey shin guards typically protect the front and sides of the shin and extend towards the ankle. Junior models may have a similar shape or use a football-style guard with an ankle sock. A higher price does not automatically mean better protection; differences often relate to materials, construction and comfort. Choose a guard with suitable coverage that fits securely.

Between sizes? Try the guards on with your normal hockey socks. Check that they stay in place, cover the required areas and do not dig into the ankle or knee when bending. If unsure, contact our team with the player’s height and the brand/model you are considering.
Hockey Glove Size Guide
Find the right glove size using the chart for your chosen brand and model. Glove manufacturers use different measurements, so hand width, hand length and hand circumference are not interchangeable.
How to measure: Hand width is measured straight across the palm (excluding the thumb), hand length is measured along the hand where specified by the manufacturer, and circumference is measured around the palm. Follow each brand’s specific instructions. Aim for true to size; if between sizes, usually choose the larger size provided the glove remains secure and comfortable.
Choose your brand below to view its size charts. Some brands use different measurements for protective, indoor and warmth gloves.
