Find the right stick for your game
Whether you're buying your child's first hockey stick or upgrading to a new one, choosing the correct length makes a real difference to comfort, control and technique.
The easiest way to start is with the player's age, but height is the more reliable guide. Children grow at different rates, so always check their height before choosing a stick.

Should I buy a longer stick for my child to grow into?
Junior sticks are generally available in shorter lengths, up to approximately 35 inches. A 36.5-inch stick is the standard adult starting point, while 37.5-inch and longer sticks are available for players who prefer additional reach.
Individual manufacturers may classify their junior and adult models differently.
If you're between sizes, already have a stick you find comfortable, or need advice choosing your first stick, our team can help.

Find your brand below and choose the correct junior, men's, women's or unisex category. There is no single universal shoe-size conversion across brands. Use the chart for the specific brand and age category of the shoes you are buying.
Important: "CM/JP" may be a shoe-label size, not actual measured foot length. Where available, use the separate "Foot length (cm)" column for a measured foot. K and J both mean junior/kids. US youth sizes may be marked Y or C. Junior and adult conversions can differ even when the UK number is identical.
Choose a shoe that holds the heel securely, feels comfortable around the midfoot and leaves room for the toes without excessive movement. A conversion chart does not guarantee the same fit across different brands or models.
Source: Brabo shoe-box size chart. This takes priority over catalogue SKU endings where they differ.
Kookaburra: Junior and adult ranges overlap and have different EU equivalents.
Nike: CM/JP and actual foot length are different measurements. Nike older-kids UK 6 has two labelled entries; use the specific product label to distinguish them.
Osaka: Junior UK 2.5 = EU 35, whereas senior UK 2.5 = EU 35.5. Do not combine junior and senior conversions.
Tell our team the brand and model you are considering, whether it is junior or adult footwear, your current shoe size and (if possible) your measured foot length. We can help you check the most suitable option. Shoe sizes and fit can vary between brands.
Manufacturer sizing references are guidance, not a guarantee of fit. Blank measurements shown as a dash were not provided in the source chart. Product stock and availability should be checked separately.
Hockey Factory Shop provides manufacturer-specific footwear size conversion charts for Adidas, ASICS, Brabo, Grays, Kookaburra, Mizuno, Nike and Osaka.
How to choose the correct size
Select the brand of hockey shoe first.
Choose the appropriate junior, men's, women's or unisex chart.
Use the manufacturer's UK, EU and US size conversions rather than assuming all brands use identical sizing.
Where a foot-length measurement is provided, measure both feet and use the longer measurement.
A CM/JP shoe-size label is not necessarily the same as the actual measured foot length.
Junior sizes marked K (Kids) and J (Junior) refer to the same junior sizing category. These letters do not change the numerical size conversion.
Junior and adult conversions can differ, even when the UK size number is identical.
ASICS unisex footwear generally follows the men's size chart unless the product specifies otherwise.
For Brabo footwear, use the manufacturer's shoe-box conversion chart where it differs from catalogue SKU information.
If a size falls between two measurements, check the manufacturer's fitting advice and the customer's preferred fit rather than automatically selecting a larger size.
Changing between footwear brands
A customer changing from one manufacturer to another should not automatically choose the same EU or US size. Check the appropriate manufacturer's chart for each brand. Where available, compare actual foot-length measurements and take account of the fit of the customer's existing shoes.

Brabo US sizes
Brabo footwear uses the manufacturer's shoe-box size conversion chart. The US size designations must be quoted exactly as printed, including any letters.
For example, Brabo UK 9 corresponds to EU 43 and US 10W. The designation 10W must not be changed to US men's 10. The manufacturer's original size label takes priority over any conflicting catalogue SKU information.
Changing brands or moving from junior to adult footwear
UK, EU and US size conversions can vary between manufacturers and between junior and adult ranges.
When changing footwear brands or moving from junior to adult shoes, use the relevant manufacturer's size chart and check the fit. Matching a UK size does not necessarily guarantee identical fit or comfort.
Where available, compare actual heel-to-toe foot measurements rather than relying solely on EU or US size conversions. Do not confuse CM/JP shoe-label measurements with actual foot length.
Hockey shoes should hold the heel securely, feel comfortable around the midfoot and allow appropriate room for the toes.
